Seeking Him First

Hey guys!

Can you believe it’s already 2019?!😱

Who here makes New Years resolutions? I’m guessing most of you do, even if you don’t actually write them down. But what I wanted to ask was, who makes it one of their resolutions or goals to “seek Him first?”

I’ve been studying the Bible and thinking a lot lately about how we are supposed to seek God first, before anything else in our lives. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Guys, it’s actually one of the commands in the Bible – to seek Him first!

1 Chronicles 16:11 & Psalms 105:4 both say, “Search for the Lord and for His strength; continually seek Him.”

Some of you might be wondering, what does it mean to seek Him? Well, seeking God isn’t just a one-time thing. You have to be consistent; it’s an everyday duty. Making sure you read your Bible, pray, and spend time in worship are ways you can grow in your relationship with Him. To seek God means to seek Him, to want to have every part of your life under God.

1 Chronicles 28:9 And Solomon, my son; learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve Him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek Him, you will find Him. But if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.”

The Bible says if you seek Him, you will find Him. So why not give it a try? With all that being said, I really just wanted to encourage you guys to make sure you make a priority to seek God first!

Hebrews 11:6 “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.”

Happy New Year everyone! I love you guys, and I hope you have an AMAZING week!

We’ll see you next time with…
